Motif above:<\/b> Disc made by Balthassar Wey\u00df zu Wesen for Hans Dobler and Verena Mettler for the water in 1598. The Toblers (or Doblers) were an economically and politically powerful family who lived in Nesslau (zum Wasser) and the neighboring village of Sidwald (later Neu St. Johann) and held important political offices. Hans Tobler’s first marriage was to a Barbel, who bore him the children David (before 1582), Elsbeth in 1587 and Verena in 1589. The second marriage to Verena Mettler is not recorded in the marriage register; however, the woman appears several times as godmother and gives birth to a daughter Salome in 1598. Hans Tobler probably died before 1601. His widow (Verena Mettler) married Andreas Tobler on October 4, 1601.<\/p>

Motif center:<\/b> On another coat of arms glass pane from 1584, Schulthai\u00df is described as Seckelmeister zu Constanz. From 1596 to 1600 he was mayor and bailiff, then until 1634 he was the captain of the town council in Constance. Marx Schulthai\u00df is mentioned in a document in the GLA KA 5 N.904 dated 19.10.1618 in connection with Reichenau Monastery. In 1613, Marx Schulthai\u00df donated a valuable illustrated collection of minstrels without melodies, the “Weingartner Liederhandschrift” (ca. 1310\/20), to the Benedictine Abbey of Weingarten. Schulthai\u00df died in 1643.<\/p>

Shadrach – this name was given to Hananiah in Babylon. He was one of the three faithful who refused to worship the golden image of Nebuchadnezzar. They were then thrown into the fiery furnace and miraculously saved (Old Testament, Book of Daniel 1:7; 2:49; 3:12-30).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
